My Immigration Story
In 2010, technologist Tan Le took the TEDGlobal stage to demo a powerful new interface. But now, at TEDxWomen, she tells a very personal story: the story of her family — mother, grandmother and sister — fleeing Vietnam and building a new life.

Early modern human dispersal from Africa: genomic evidence for multiple waves of migration
Anthropological and genetic data agree in indicating the African continent as the main place of origin for anatomically modern humans. However, it is unclear whether early modern humans left Africa through a single, major process, dispersing simultaneously over Asia and Europe, or in two main waves, first through the Arab Peninsula into southern Asia and Oceania, and later through a northern route crossing the Levant

(Re)creating Culture
This project explores the shifting role of the curator within a transnational context and in light of the demands of a globalised post-colonial world. With a particular focus on the Gulf region, which has recently witnessed a rapid expansion in its cultural and museum initiatives, the project focuses on the challenges of curating in a transcultural milieu and on issues of audience engagement and inclusion.

Migration Museaum Project
The Migration Museum Project plans to create the UK’s first dedicated Migration Museum and to tell the story of movement into and out of the UK in a fresh and engaging way.
The museum will be an enquiry into who we are, where we came from and where we are going. Britons at home and abroad have a shared cultural history and an exciting future. We aim to represent the thrilling tales, the emotion and the history that have gone into shaping our national fabric; we aim to be the museum of all our stories.
